For independent artists, the gap between finishing a track and getting it in front of people is full of small blockers. Mixing, mastering, writing a pitch, finding contacts. And then there’s the artwork.
Artwork matters more than most musicians want to admit. It’s the first visual signal a blogger, playlist curator, or new listener gets about your music. A strong cover suggests you take your craft seriously. A weak one can get you skipped before anyone presses play.
The problem is that great artwork has traditionally required either money (hire a designer) or time (learn the tools yourself). Neither option fits the pace most independent artists work at.
That’s why we built AI Album Art generation into DropTrack.

ToggleHow it works
When you open a track or playlist in your DropTrack dashboard, you’ll now see an option to generate artwork with AI. Rather than starting from a blank prompt, the generator is already loaded with context about your music: track title, artist name, genre, mood, BPM, and more. You pick a visual style from a set of options including photographic, illustration, abstract, minimal, retro, and club/festival, then optionally add a short description of the vibe in your own words.
From there, DropTrack generates a set of candidates for you to review. Browse them, pick one you like, and it’s applied to your track or playlist immediately. If nothing lands, you can edit the prompt and generate again.
The whole process takes under a minute.
Part of a bigger picture
DropTrack has been building AI into the musician workflow for a while now. We use it to help you write personalized pitch messages to industry contacts, matching your tone and your track to the right recipients. AI Album Art is the natural next step: the same idea applied to the visual side of your release.
Our goal isn’t to replace your creative voice. It’s to remove the parts of releasing music that slow you down so you can focus on the parts that actually require you.
What’s next
Accepted artwork saves to your DropTrack image library, so you can reuse it across tracks, playlists, press releases, and public pages. We’ll be expanding where generated art can be used as the feature matures.
AI Album Art generation is available now. Open any track or playlist in your dashboard to try it.
